Canada Day Montreal 2011 celebrations

Canada Day 2011 celebrations in Montreal come in all shapes, sizes and styles. There will be cupcakes and model airplanes in Côte St. Luc, mini-golf and wagon rides in Beaconsfield, parades downtown and in Pointe Claire, Pierrefonds and Longueuil, and a splash bash in Westmount. Canada Day Parade in Montreal

When: Friday, July 1 at 11 a.m.
Where: Parade goes along Ste. Catherine St., starting at Fort St. going to Peel St., with activities at Place du Canada (corner René Lévesque and Peel Sts.)
Activities include: Canada Day cake, inflatables, dragon dance and more. More info.

Canada Day in Old Montreal

When: Friday, July 1, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Where: Quays of the Old Port

11 a.m.: Swearing-in ceremony
Noon: Canada Day Cake (while quantities last)
11 a.m. to 8 p.m.: Inflatables village, skateboarding demonstrations and practise ramp (helmets available)
1 to 5 p.m.: Yoga initiation sessions
1 to 7:30 p.m.: Dance workshops, gumboots workshop
